knowledge philic presents....

advance maths for tier-2

with a view to crack cgl, we are continuously sharing important questions that is the same question which asked in the previous year exams to solve it and optimize your chance to become inspector

let's start

Conversion of Solid From One Shape to Another

Kp-1. A metal (lead) cube of dimension 22 cm has been recasted into spherical balls of diameter

2 cm. How many such balls will be formed?

Kp-2. The radius of a solid metallic sphere is 1.5 cm. It is melted and drawn into a wire of

diameter 0.2 cm. Find the length of the wire?

Kp-3. A solid sphere of radius 3 cm is melted and then cast into small spherical balls each of

diameter 0.6 cm. Find the number of balls thus obtained?

Kp-4. A solid metallic right circular cylinder of base diameter 16 cm and height 2 cm is melted

and cast into a right circular cone of height three times that of the cylinder. Find the

curved surface area of the cone?

(Take pi = 3.14)

Kp-5. A cone of height 24 cm and radius of base 6 cm is made up of modelling clay. A child

reshape it in the form of a sphere. Find the radius of the sphere?

Kp-6. Selvi's house has an overhead tank in the shape of a cylinder. This is filled by pumping

water from a sump (an underground tank) which is in the shape of cuboid. The sump

has dimensions 1.57 m × 1.44 m × 95 cm. The overhead tank has its radius 60 cm and

height 95 cm. Find the height of the water left in the sump after the overhead tank has

been completely filled with water from the sump which had been full. Compare the

capacity of the tank with that of the sump?

(Take pi = 3.14)

Kp-7. A copper rod of diameter 1 cm and length 8 cm is drawn into a wire of length 18 m of

uniform thickness. Find the thickness of the wire?

Kp-8. A hemispherical tank full of water is emptied by a pipe at the rate of 3*( 4/7) litres per second. How much time will it take to empty half the tank, if it is 3 m in diameter?

(Take pi = 22/7)

Kp-9. The radius of the base and height of a metal solid cylinder are r cm and 3 cm respectively.

It is melted and recast into a cone of the same radius of base. Find the height of the cone?

Kp- 10. A solid metallic right circular cylinder of base diameter 16 cm and height 2 cm is melted

and recast into a right circular cone of height three times that of the cylinder. Find the

curved surface area of the cone?

(Use pi = 3.14)
